Main functional features
Desktop Management
Through the H3C Workspace cloud desktop management platform, administrators can perform unified management and centralized control of virtual desktops based on desktop pools. For virtual desktops in the desktop pool, batch deployment can be performed, and batch authorization can be granted to local users, domain users, and user groups. Through a static desktop pool, users can have exclusive access to virtual desktops and customize their virtual desktop settings.
Through manual desktop pooling, administrators can manually set desktop pool restore points as needed and perform restore operations manually when needed.
In a dynamic desktop pool, administrators can perform virtual desktop dynamic authorization. When the user logs in, a virtual desktop will be randomly assigned from the dynamic pool and automatically restored to the desktop initialization state after the user closes the virtual desktop.
In a static desktop pool, administrators can import existing virtual machines and manually remove virtual machines from the desktop pool. For manual desktop pools or dynamic desktop pools, support timeout release after virtual machine disconnection, that is, when the virtual desktop is disconnected for a certain period of time, the authorization relationship is automatically released, and the virtual desktop can be applied for use by other authorized users in the pool.
User Management
Administrators can perform group maintenance for local and domain users through the H3C Workspace cloud desktop management platform user management module, including operations such as adding, modifying, deleting, and querying. They can also view virtual desktop information authorized by users and user groups. LDAP domain users can be synchronized manually or periodically to monitor online user information. In addition, it also supports local user authentication. Users only need to authenticate in the cloud desktop management platform when logging in, which makes login faster and management more convenient.
Desktop watermark
H3C Workspace cloud desktop supports configuring the desktop explicit watermark function through the administrator, displaying the login username and time on the virtual desktop. Users can also customize the displayed content according to their actual needs. Fixed position watermark and full screen watermark can be configured, and the color, angle, and font of watermark display can be adjusted to prevent users from using camera devices to capture and leak virtual desktops.
In addition to supporting explicit watermarks, H3C Workspace cloud desktop also supports blind watermarking function, which refers to desktop watermarks that are invisible to the naked eye. The blind watermark feature is suitable for confidentiality scenarios such as copyright protection or tracing responsibility after confidential information leakage. When users steal sensitive information through screenshots and cause sensitive information leakage, blind watermark parsing can be used to trace back to the cloud desktop and users who leaked the information.
software distribution
When deploying or updating software to various terminal desktops through the H3C Workspace cloud desktop management platform, administrators can create a separate software library and directly distribute it to virtual machines without the need to update system templates. Administrators only need to distribute different software libraries to virtual machines, and the virtual machines can use the updated software normally after restarting.
Application control
H3C Workspace cloud desktop can implement batch control over illegal application software in the desktop pool by setting software blacklist authorization policies. Mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. Customize the use of software in virtual machines. In specific situations, administrators or users who do not wish to run certain software in a virtual machine can use this feature to block such software.
2. In specific environments, certain software may affect the secure and stable operating environment of virtual machines. At this point, such software can be blocked through the software blacklist function to obtain a good virtual desktop experience.
Large screen operation and maintenance
The H3C Workspace cloud desktop management platform achieves centralized management and unified monitoring of physical and virtual resources through a unified web management console. Through the DashBoard interface, an overview of cloud resources can be provided, enabling unified monitoring of data center clusters, hosts, storage, virtual machines, and network resources. At present, it includes Top5 monitoring of host CPU, memory, and other resources, as well as Top5 monitoring of virtual machine CPU, memory, and other resources.
high reliability
H3C Workspace cloud desktop cluster is developed based on server virtualization platform, taking into account hyper converged management, and can provide users with multiple system reliability guarantees such as HA, DRS, DPM, effectively ensuring the stability of cloud desktop. The benefits of centralized management based on clusters are:
1. By utilizing centralized management functions, administrators can organize, monitor, and configure the entire IT environment through a unified interface, thereby reducing management costs.
A cluster with a shared resource pool formed by aggregating multiple independent server hosts not only reduces the complexity of desktop pool management, but also has inherent high availability. By monitoring all hosts in the cluster, once a host fails, the virtualization platform will immediately respond and restart the affected virtual desktop on another host in the cluster, or perform manual online virtual desktop migration. At the same time, it provides storage online migration function, supporting online migration of virtual desktops across different storage types and storage products from different vendors. It can migrate running virtual desktops from one storage location to another in real time without interruption or downtime, providing users with an economical and effective cloud desktop high availability solution.
